GIS and Business Intelligence Data Wrangling

Log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Data visualization tools and dashboards are helpful for generating useful intelligence from raw data. Automating data preparation tasks is the first step to leveraging these applications. Learn how to restructure attributes and attribute values, plus how to transpose data and use a pivot table in FME. Then, see how to output directly to Tableau.

Prerequisites / Level of Difficulty
All levels of FME users. Some knowledge of FME Workbench is expected, but prior training is not necessary. Please bring a laptop that can connect to Wifi and remote desktop to Windows machines.

To make it easy to set up your laptop, your FME workshop trainers have prepared a virtual machine with everything you'll need including an installation of FME Desktop, FME Server, and/or FME Cloud, and course material.

You can connect to your virtual machine using Remote Desktop Connection software. Remote Desktop Connection is pre-installed on most Windows operating systems. For Mac OS X, you can install "Microsoft Remote Desktop" from the App Store.

If you already have a virtual machine setup from pre-conference training, you do not need to setup another. If not, please set up the virtual machine before the workshop if possible: http://fme.ly/ucvm

The password on the virtual machine is: FME2017learnings
